Remembering All Who Came Before.

The word “saint,” in the Bible is used of all Christians. It means “set apart” and “different” or literally “an awful thing” that is remade into something more like Christ than our natural flesh.

November 1st is All Saints Day, it is a day of prayer and honoring all saints—both known and unknown—who devoted their life to furthering the Gospel of Jesus. It is a time to reflect with gratitude, and draw inspiration from their lives of faith and devotion to the cause of Christ.

But, more specifically, when you wake up on November 1st, remember the martyrs who bore witness through suffering and death, and offer a small prayers for those who, even now, endure persecution for their faith around the world—asking God to grant them courage, protection, and the hope of eternal peace as they make the name and the gospel of Jesus known to every last corner of this world.

But we ask you, brothers, to acknowledge those who work diligently among you, who preside over you in the Lord and give you instruction. 13In love, hold them in highest regard because of their work.
~1 Thessalonians 5:12
